    Horizon Health Network is seeking a skilled and dedicated Vascular Surgeon to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating vascular conditions, performing surgical procedures, and providing comprehensive patient care. This role requires a strong understanding of acute care, pediatrics, and pain management, along with proficiency in medical terminology and electronic health record systems such as Cerner. The Vascular Surgeon will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

    Who you are

    • Medical degree from an accredited institution with completion of a residency in vascular surgery.
    • Board certification in vascular surgery is preferred.
    • Proven experience in acute care settings, particularly in pediatrics if applicable.
    • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency with electronic health record systems such as Cerner.
    • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
    • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high standards of patient care.
    • Commitment to ongoing education and research within the field of vascular surgery.

    The McGill University Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is inviting applications for a full-time Contract Academic Staff position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical) based at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). This will be a Contract Academic Staff position and does not confer eligibility for tenure.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Hold a medical degree, and must hold or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec;
    • Have completed Vascular Surgery training, preferably within the last 2-3 years and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent);
    • Have completed a minimum of 1-year Clinical Fellowship in vascular surgery;
    • Be committed to, and demonstrate excellence in, clinical care, research, teaching, and innovation; formal evidence of excellence in these areas with prior peer-recognition, awards and/or distinctions will be considered an asset;
    • Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a strong commitment to acquire the necessary language skills at the level needed to practice medicine in Quebec. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families, and health care professionals.

    McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing.
